2010 LSBA Youth Bowhunt
AT

First Point Bowhunting
October 8-11, 2010
Noon, Friday-Noon, Monday

This is a great opportunity for kids 16 and younger to have a wonderful experience bowhunting for Texas’ most coveted trophies. The bag limit for each hunter is an 8 point buck, a bearded turkey, one javelina, unlimited hogs and other varmints. All Texas Parks & Wildlife Rules and Regulations apply.

There are 9 spots available for this hunt. The hunt is FREE of charge and includes lodging. Child and parent must be a current member of the LSBA throughout the entire entry process and at the time of the hunt.

Hunters for the 9 spots will be selected through a drawing. There are five (5) different ways that a child can earn a ticket for the drawing. There can be up to five (5) tickets per person.

Tickets can be earned by the following:

1. Complete the Hunters Education Course
2. Complete the International Bowhunter Education Program Course
(A child must be 9 to be certified by the Hunters Ed and 12 through the IBEP course, however, the requirement for the hunt is that the course be completed.)
For course schedules:
http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/learning/hunter_education/date.phtml#bowhunting
3. Write a 500 word essay on the topic “Why I started Bowhunting”
4. Video Essay (Shooting Proficiency, etc.)
5. Win any 3-D Tournament

Deadline: All entries including hunter’s name, parents’ name, address, phone number and email address, along with supporting documentation must be RECEIVED at the following address by May 31, 2010. Winners will be announced at the LSBA’s 2010 Outdoor Expo and Banquet in South Fork Ranch in Dallas, Texas, on June 12, 2010. It would be appreciated if entrants be in attendance at the Banquet, but is not a requirement.

Hey guys, I had a flier from the LSBA magazine set aside for Zach. I handed it to him earlier and had him write an essay for this, but the flier says that the essay topic is "Why I Started Bowhunting".

Did the topic change, or do I have an outdated flier. It says the hunt date is October 8-11, 2010, so I thought it was current.

Can Zach use the "Why I Started Bowhunting" essay, or does he need to write another one on "What A Trophy Means To Me"?'

Thanks!

Brett, not sure of the question if it is what to do on the video or where to send it. Have you youth video a segment on how to shoot proficiently then mail it to the LSBA address in Lake Jackson. Bob
