Rules for: The Annual “5K Hog and JavelinaTournament”!

We will be meeting Thursday, Feb 5th or Thursday Feb 12th at 8 a.m. The meet up location will be at FM 1472.(Webb county) You will be responsible for packing in everything that you need to survive for 3 ½ days and nights. We do have RV hookups to include Water and electricity Campsites also available. (All included in your Entry fee) Hunting is allowed from the time that we pull into the ranch until 10 a.m. Sunday morning.

Contest Rules:
  • Entries are to be submitted no later than 8:00 Sunday morning.
  • Size of trophies/prizes will be determined by the number of entries.
  • The weight standard will be for a non-field dressed animal. Should you choose to field dress your entry, the weight at the time of submission will be what is used for prizes.
  • A short award ceremony will be held at camp at 8:30 Sunday morning.

Necessary/ recommended items to bring:
  • Tent or RV and all camping supplies you need
  • food, toilet paper, fire wood, trash bags, etc.
  • Hunting license

You will be held responsible for your own and your guests’ behavior. You will be required to leave for unacceptable behavior. Hunting is inherently dangerous: by entering the ranch you will be held accountable/responsible for any accidents, damages, and injuries that occur within your party. We expect everyone to arrive and leave at the same time. Any deviations will disrupt my hunt, and if you are late getting to meeting place or packed up ready to leave @noon on Sunday then you will be holding up the rest of the hunters. so this is on an emergency basis only and you will not be allowed re-entry to the ranch. We will all be exiting the ranch together at noon on Sunday, so please be packed and ready to go.

This is an awesome place to hog hunt. And even if all 20 spots are filled with 5000 acres they is plenty of room. I have hunted this area for many years, and have always had success and made good friends. I can be reached at 512-203-0495 or by email at homecrafters1@austin.rr.com

Any questions or concerns please feel free to give me a call.

Sincerely,

Rick Gilchrist

There is no Bow hunters on ranch so they have no tripods set up. And to bring yours would be ok but with 3 1/2 days of hunting you are taking a gamble that you picked the right spot. Up to you.

Im not sure If that was a question or just a "statement" But I can tell you that I wouldn't be going all the way down there 9 years in a row to waste my time. some years are better than others but HOGS/Javelinas are in SOUTH TEXAS! By the way, is this STEVE as in Diamond C bow hunting ranch? And if so, Isn't this kind of cheesy to try and put doubt in others about hunting somewhere else other than your place? If this is not "The" Diamond C then Im sorry... But it seems kind of fishy.... FYI Ive been to Diamond C ranch twice! (COOL RANCH)

NO, This is not Steve, I bought the place from Steve about 9 months ago. I was not trying to put doubt it anybodys mind, at all. I was just thinking of going myself and wanted to know if anybody has been and if it was worth the money.Sorry if that is the way I came off.
