Default State Shoot questions

Howdy!

What time does the state shoot start on each day?

Do you have to be an LSBA member to compete?

Can I get directions from College Station to Salt Grass? I saw the map, but Houston confuses me. ops:

Thanks!

The State Tournament will begin with a Shotgun start at 9:00 AM on both Saturday and Sunday.

I will have to check with Brandon on the membership question.

This is how I would go~Take Hwy 6 and exit 290 to Houston, take 610 South Loop and exit Highway 288 South towards Lake Jackson, exit Hwy 6 in Manvel and take a left on Hwy 6. Hwy 6 will take you through Manvel, Alvin, Santa Fe and into Hitchcock. You will take a left after Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and right before the Galveston County Fair Grounds and Jack Brooks Park. Go to the stop sign and take a left and you will be at Saltgrass.

You do not have to be a member to shoot, but you do have to be a member to place and receive an award.

Are there going to be any places or awards given to those that do not qualify for state, ie. not a member or have not shot in all of the LSBA shoots. :?: I asked the boss, but she did not know. :?

Bob,

You do not have to "qualify" for the State Tournament like ASA requires you to do. The only thing that shooting all the previous "Regionals" does is get you qualified for the "All Region" competition, which is a separate thing from the State Tournament. That being said Dena is correct in the fact that you must be a member before you begin shooting at the State Tournament to be able to place in the tournament and receive awards. If a non-member wished to shoot they are more than welcome, but unless they sign up for membership before the tournament they will not be eligible for an "official" place or award.

I hope I didn't confuse you anymore

-Brandon

How long do you think it will take to drive there from Bryan?

Thanks,

Yeah, I got to get ready for the ASA Classic and I think Salt Grass's course will put me right on target. So, 3 hours - I guess I'll have to leave at 5-5:30 am to make the 8 am registration. I sure hope I can get someone from the club to go with me.
