Default getting a buck scored

I have not had any animals scored and recognized at the banquet yet, but this year my older daughter got a very nice one and I would like to. Of course I took it stright to the taxidermist.

I remember we set the banquet up so that we have reached the required 60 day drying period, but I doubt the head will be back by that time.

What do you guys do? Try to get it measured before it is mounted or while it is in the process?

you can retrieve your horns from the Taxidermist, have it scored and then return it , without effecting the mounting process. Her horns are just laying on a shelf waiting for the cape to be processed. If I had killed that deer it would be waiting for a new cape...I would have rubbed all the hair off the original cape dragging it in and out of the truck showing to folks
