Default January 8th for Grayson Co Meeting.

Recieved in an email today for the Grayson County proposals and all the rest. Hope to see several of you there.

Folks,

Please click on the following link to an excellent article by local outdoors writer Lynn Burkhead in today's Herald Democrat regarding the pending Grayson County firearms season controversy: http://www.heralddemocrat.com/hd/Sports/Outdoors/Lynn-Burkhead----Grayson-County-deer-controversy-picks-up-steam

Also, as a reminder, the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, including Executive Director Carter Smith and several biologists and other high-ranking Department employees, will hold a public scoping meeting on January 8, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. in the Center for Workplace Learning on the main campus of Grayson County College, on Highway 691 in Denison, Texas. Anyone interested in this issue, hunters and non-hunters alike, should make plans to attend this extremely important meeting.

In addition, you and your significant other, family and friends should be sure to express your opinion on this issue to the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department via public comment at the following link: http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/business/feedback/public_comment/proposals/200901_scoping_deer_hunting_regulations.phtml Scroll down to Item 11, check the box marked Disagree Completely, and be sure also to make a comment in the box, no matter how short. We need big numbers on this public comment website!

Please stay tuned for more over the next several weeks. January 8, 2009 will be here before we know it!

Peon, the link for the article wouldn't work for me.

Good luck, I have posted my opposition to the rifle hunts.

Please also take a moment to voice your opposition at their scoping meeting for the proposed youth rifle hunts in October.

Thanks,

Tomme

Default Car Pooling

Not too late to optimize car pooling. I have 4 spaces open from Anywhere from Whitney/Hillsboro/Waco to Austin and back. I will front the expenses (except lunch )

Might want to start an offline list of People who may need rides and look for open seats. January is just around the corner

According to TPWD website the Committees meet on January 21 and the Commission will meet on January 22. Our time to be there will be 0900 on January 22.

Look forward to seeing as many of you there as we can muster.

Thanks for your support of bowhunting in Texas.

Going through some changes in the next week or so at work, so I'm not sure what my schedule will be.
If I'm off I'll be there!

I plan to be there on behalf of the Grayson County Whitetail Association on the Grayson County firearms hunting proposal, and will stand with the LSBA on the youth season proposal as well.
