We need more discussion in the Sticks and Strings forum. I've kinda reached a plateau and I crave more.............

Also, there's a place here to talk about most anything bowhunting such as:
Stump shooting?
Rabbits?
Carp?
Gar?
Hogs?
3D?

I'm sure there's something going on that you could tell us about...

Please do me a favor, when you get signed up. Put where you live. We are getting hammered by spammers if you sign up without at least stating what state you are from 50--50 chance I will whack you.

Just wanted to stop by and say howdy again and introduce myself.
I lost my email address and had to register to something I could remember. I have been known as Darren here. PY2315 on the old Bowsite is an alias also. I am neighbors with Buff (Hallsville is a small place) and a long time buddy of Lost Hawg. I can take a little credit for getting the Hawg involved with LSBA. Sorry Hawg!

I have been reading through some of the posts and realized this is more my speed than some of the other sites out there.

Probably the wrong place but can anyone tell me the latest on the drawloc in archery season ruling?

Darren, good to see you over here. How's your catalpas growing?

The Draw-Loc is now allowed for all bowhunters in the archery season.

Too bad you're not leasing down at Christoval anymore. I'm living in San Angelo now and would love the chance to get to visit with you again.

Don't be bashful and welcome.

NETexasOutdoors , the draw loc has been legal in the archery season now for many years. Also, now starting Sept 01, there will be no minimum draw weight for archery equipment. So now, the only reason that someone would need to or want to shoot a crossbow in the archery season would be because the just want it simple. Bob

So there is no upper body disability limitation on the draw loc in Archery only season? If so then when was this implemented?
I am looking to purchase one for a upper body disabled person in the hopes that he will be able to shoot a bow. He has two boys that I am hoping will become bowhunters because he can now resume bowhunting.

Also to answer Tracy. The catalpas were doing great early but a series of strong storms removed all the worms. Since the last of June we have had no rain so they aren't producing. I have got not a single worm off of 20 trees!

Tracy. We have become very involved in working with challenged hunters to provide hunting and fishing opportunities. I have found myself hunting less and less each season. But I am cleaning more and more deer! Also I am spending more time with my Dad. We have a small paper company lease near Lodi and I focus on getting it right for him.

But for me- My first love in hunting is still bow hunting for whitetail. I still manage to get a doe or two each season. I have become so picky with my bucks that I haven't shot one in 9 years now. No problem with anyone else shooting one - it's just where I'm at in my bowhunting life.

It's good to talk to you guys again. I will try to stay in touch better. LSBA was my first contact with bowhunters on a large scale and the work you guys do can't be measured. Thank you for your service and being the voice for the bowhunters of Texas.

If you are near the Longview area be sure and holler.

No upper disability needed for the draw loc, legal for anyone to use on their bows. Tomme may be able to tell you when it started being allowed, but I know it has been a while now. Bob

Hello LSBA members, I've been out of touch for a while and let my membership expire, but recently got things squared away and renewed my interest in bow hunting and my membership. I hope to post some and grill yall on new equipment, I bought new bow and am still tweaking it and adding/replacing parts and pieces. Woohoo! I recently discovered Saltgrass Archery Range. One word, AWESOME!

drfrizz, welcome back to the LSBA. Saltgrass is a great place to shoot. We have a couple of fellowship hunts going on right now. Grunts and Gobbles this weekend, still time to get in, and Rams and Ham coming up in May. Look forward to meeting you at Saltgrass one weekend.
Bob

Had a blast at Saltgrass over the weekend and was thoroughly educated on how different punching holes in paper is than shooting 3D. Wow, any lapse in concentration and your score reflects it immediately. Met some great folks out there and am looking forward to the next challenge. Any tips for Banana Bend?

Ron, I sent you a PM asking who you are, because I am the one that has been doing all the whacking. I see that you may have a little spam going on in your post with the s. I dont click on anything I don't know what it may be. If you are a legit person, I would think you would reply to my PM, and also put what nation (LOL) you are from in your Avatar. Will keep this around for a couple days waiting on a reply back before I whack it.

Bob

Well, I never got a reply back from you so I went ahead and deleted your post and banned you.

Bob
