Default Spammers and Moderators

FYI.....The Moderators only have the ability to Delete the posts in those forum topics in which we have moderating powers. The spam in the Regional Forums, the ability to delete spammers names/weblinks from the members list and block their IP's can only be done by the Administrator. I have emailed him to make him aware of the situation. And hopefully we'll get the software upgraded from version 2.0.11 to the current release of 2.0.19 soon which will allow more control over this and other security issues as well as add more feature benefits to the site for the members.

Thanks for the many emails/phone calls today drawing it to my attention, I just wanted everyone to know why it is still up there and how the forums and moderating works. Too bad we can't send a 100,000 volt charge back down the line to cook their dang spamming PC's

I just updated the forum to the most current version of phpbb and hopefully the new security fixes will correct this concern.

Default spammers

The new security features will require new users to be activated by forum administrator before they will be able to post. I apologize for this inconvenience, but this was the only way to keep the spammer posts off the forum. We will check and activate accounts daily. Again I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, but this is a family website.

Well, I'm in.

Good job Mr. Admin. That should hold 'em off for a while.

The spammers found a way to get in as guests. Have attempted to block that. Will see what comes up next.
