Wild Hog Video Challenge
March 31 - May 5 2012
$50 per Team
$10 from each entry goes into BIG PIG POT

Come be a part of the 3rd Annual Colorado County Wild Hog Video Challenge!
In this contest, two person teams are faced with the challenge of hunting the elusive wild hog, WITH ARCHERY EQUIPMENT and catching the hunt, shot,kill and weighing of hog on video. Both members of each team are required to document a confirmed kill on video to qualify for top honors. This is a month long contest where contestants may hunt anytime, day or night, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. So, dust of that camera lenses, sharpen those broad heads and sight in those bows. It’s time to hit the woods!
Awards Banquet Location: Rock Island Volunteer Fire Station: Come join us for food, fun, friends and laughter on May 5th at the 3rd Annual Colorado County Wild Hog Contest Awards Banquet. Lunch will be served starting at 1:00 pm. Starting at 1:30 pm contestants and guests will watch all entered videos and declare the winners at this time. Footage in any format is acceptable (still on camcorder tape, DVD, etc.). A TV will be on hand to plug cameras into or a DVD player. Prizes for best video and still photo will be awarded.
Special Youth Division:
To include the young’uns this year, kids 13 years old and younger will have the opportunity to participate in this special rifle division. Must have kill AND weighing on hog on video and present video to Contest Director on or before May 5th deadline. This will be a Big Hog only pot. Only one hog per contestant may be entered. Entry fee is $10, 100% payback. Youth Contestants must show proof of age. Contestant must meet age requirements before March 31, 2012.
Rules:
1. Hunting shall begin no sooner than MIDNIGHT March 31 and end at noon on May 5th . Hunt anywhere, anytime, day or night, during the contest dates
2. Two person teams. This is a Bow hunting Only Hog Contest. Team with the heaviest 2 hog total weight will be crowned Team Boss Hawg! Each team members MUST record a kill AND weighing of hog on video to enter 2 hogs in video challenge. Heaviest hog will win Boss Hawg honors and claim 100% of big pig pot.
3. To qualify for team weight, each member MUST kill a pig on video. One member will not be allowed to kill and enter two hogs for a team. (Yes, there may be a chance that a team with only on hog will have more weight than a team with two pigs. Yes, it has happened in the past. The goal of this contest is for both team members to document a kill on video.)
4. There is NO limit to the amount of hogs harvested by a team. A hunter may kill several hogs of which only the heaviest from each team member will count.
5. Night hunting IS ALLOWED, as long as the video footage is evident of a BOW KILL.
6. No Dogs allowed for hunting! Dogs shall only be used for tracking a shot hog.
7. This contest is not restricted to hunting in Colorado County. Teams may reside and hunt in any county. However, your video must be present at the Awards Banquet on or before the deadline to qualify.
8. Videos MUST have some type of time and date stamp documenting each hunt. A shot of a phone screen showing time and date is acceptable. Videos MUST be in director’s possession by 1:00 pm May 5th. Early/ absentee entries will be accepted.
9. Rules committee will validate all videos and deem acceptable or not. Decisions made by the rules committee are final.

1 – 9 entries 2 Places
10 or more entries 3 Places
Big Pig winner takes all!

Already secured several really cool donations for door prizes. Gonna be fun y'all. Get those entry forms sent in.
I'd really like to make this an LSBA event. I think we could make it happen. Maybe even couple with the LSBA Expo. I got a lot of ideas!

remember, this is not inclusive to only colorado county. thats just where we hold the awards banquet and where most of the contestants were from when we started this event. teams can hunt and reside in any county. just gotta come to colorado county if you want to participate in the banquet.
