Default How do I figure out what bowstring I need for my recurve

I just purchased a pearson recurve at a yard sale. It says 60amo on the handle. I've read conflicting info on the web. Some say to go 3" shorter then amo while others say 4" shorter. I've always gotten my compound strings from 60x custom strings but I'm not sure which of these I need either. www.60xcustomstrings.com/recurve/ Is one of these better then the other? I've heard that dacron is the way to go on older bows. Thanks for any help. Looking forward to trying traditional archery.

bigbuck150, welcome to the LSBA website. I wish I could help you out on your answer, but I am not the most educated when it comes to trad. even though I own several recurves and shoot them. Have you contacted any of the Trad companies that sell the products. 3Rivers Archery is one that comes to mind. Also, your 60xcustomstrings looks like a good place to still get your recurve string.
Sorry I am not much help.

I ended up going with a dacron that was 4" shorter and everything worked out great. Thanks for the help everyone. I just love flinging arrows with this bow.
