Default First Blood with Synergy

My weekend at the lease seemed to be following the same path that many others in the past had taken. I arrived at my tree stand around 6:00a.m. just as I always do. I got my bamera all set up and setteled in to sit and stair at the stars once more. The Sunrise was beautiful as always and the birds were in abundance. As I sat and enjoyed nature a sound caught my ear to my right(east) I slowley turned and looked threw to branches to see to large Doe walking past my stand at about 40yrds. There was not a shooting lane on that side of me (notice I said was not,not is not.)so I sat and watched as they wondered off acroos the road and out off site. After they were gone I picked up my phone a texted a friend of mine that ws at camp and told him what had just happend. As I was putting my phone away I looked behinde (south) and saw another Doe that had apparently slipped by me on my left (west) while I was texting LOL but none the less from the trail she was on I would not have had a shot at her either. After she was out of sight I decided to break a few branches on my right side to open up a shooting lane. When I was just about done I looked back to the left again and there were 2 more Doe standing there looking at my hand corn with a very confused look on there faces. I reached for my Elite and SWEEK went the stand and off went the 2 Doe to the other side of the county. Well at this point I was not happy 5 Doe and not a single shot taken. (What kind of hunter am I?) I asked my self. So I got all my gear together and lowered it to the ground and started my climb down from the ladder stand and SWEEK it did it again. I stopped released the ratchet strap and re-set the stand so now there is no more SWEEK.

After a little trip to Throckmorton to look at a lease with a friend. We shot a few arrows and then took a much needed nap before we headed out for the eve. hunt. I headed out to my tree around 5:15p.m. and setteled in for another sit with mother nature. At around 7:00p.m. 2 huge racoons came wondering under my stand so I figured what the heck I wont see any deer with all the noise they are makeing. So I zipped an arrow at the biggest of the 2's head but missed by about 1/2 an inch. I forgot to aim low.I thought it was odd that the nock on the end of my arrow was light up. It is a tracer nock but the bow I was useing did not have the magnet to turn it on so I guess the impact with the ground casude a malfunction. Oh well I will check it later.I sat till about 7:15 when I looked behind me and there was a Doe standing at my hand corn. I slowley stood and started to turn towards her and ready for the shot. I reached up and turned on the camera to get it all on video. But the dang thing was flashing "Len's Cap" which means that there is not enought light to record. Well I need the food more than the video so I turned the camera off and reached for me bow. That is when I heard crunching behind and turned my head to see what looked to be 4 more Doe in front of me. Well I was already comitted to the one behind me so I started to settele back in on her when the others must have noticed the nock flashing and busted out past the Doe I was after. Before it was all said and done there were 9 tails in the air but my Doe was still eating away. I knew I need to hurry and shoot before the light went away and I could not see my pins. So my Elite Synergy came to full draw and I setteled the 20 yrd. pin low and tight behind her shoulder and slowley squeezed the triger on my LittleBitty Goose release and zip went my Carbon Express Maxima Hunter 350 tipped with a 100 grain Shuttle T-Lock broadhead at 310 fps. right were it needed to be. (Yes I know I shoot Rage 2 blade but I had given Kevin some Rage and asked him to try them and he in turn gave me the Shuttle T and I wanted to try it just as he did the Rage.) With a kick the Doe was off straigh towards camp. But she did not make it there she went about 65 yrds. and laid over for a long nap. As soon as I was sure she was down I started texting everyone I had numbers for to tell them the good news. By the time I got done it was dark and I mean dark and all I had was a dinky little pin light to trail her with. Lucky for me my brother was on the text list and came on the 4 wheeler as quick as he could and help me get her all loaded up and back to camp for pics and celebration. All in all I must say it turned out to be a great weekend.

Congrats, Timm.

Those Shuttle T's work great for me, too.
