I posted this on TBH, but wanted to make the members aware that Hagerman did away with the doe only hunt because of lack of interest.
But they would have it again if 50 archers committed to hunting a doe only hunt.
You still have to have your IBEP card and shoot a Hagerman qualifier.

Me and my brother would also be interested. I just took my bowhunter education class this summer so I will be applying for hagerman for the first time this year.
I would be interested as well as my wife and daughter. We are all bowhunter certified, also if anybody is interested in this and lives near conroe texas, I also teach bowhunter education.
The possibility of bringing back the doe hunt didn't come to fruition. The only way the refuge would consider it is with enough paid, guaranteed hunters pre-registered. The turnout was always very poor. My brother and I were part of the 14 or so Beleg mentioned that showed for the last doe hunt they did in 05. Sad to see that low of interest.
07 regulations will probably come out around April. Watch their website and they'll post them there when available.

Maybe they should try it again and advertise, if you scan threads on texashuntfish or texasbowhunter you will find dozens of posts of guys who lost their leases of haven't even hunted this year due to the fact they can't find a place to hunt. I think some one here have even had a hard time finding hunting land this year. I hunted three different public land areas this year 2 were packed the third was busy up until the last few weeks of the season. At richland creek WMA there were guys standing in line to pay a $125 permit fee for the 5 day archery only hunt. There would be interest if everyone knew about it.
