Default Hill Country Buck

I was at the Shonto Ranch and shot the buck of a lifetime. He came into my feeder and stayed around for about a minute and never gave me a shot. He ran off chasing another buck. I thought I had lost all hope but he returned about 10 minutes later to show up at the corner of my blind. About 10 feet away. He was so close I could not even move. He moved a little a gave me a quartering away shot at 20 feet and the G5 did the job. He is one great trophy.

What an awesome animal! CONGRATS!!! Beautiful photo as well. Looks like us Texans got some catchin up to do

Are you hunting the Callaghan this coming year? I'm thinking I'll make it back down this year and it would be good to visit with you again.

Thanks for sharing the pic and story with us.

Thanks, and yes I will be at the Callaghan. Been there for about 13 straight, no sense to quit now. And it would be great to see you.
Stay in touch.

Default OK, now I mean business

Well, 3 weekends in a row saw 17 hogs at about 50 yards in thick brush on a jog. Then a couple of coyotes with wild dogs. Next weekend I will be in the swamp with heavy arms and settle up. Then back to the bow. My targets are the coyotes and Dogs we have seen on the place. What is going on? My buddy has seen 8 or so dogs. Did everyone let dogs go in east texas?

Good job Sp!ke. Wild Bill & JPaul, nice bucks. I took a small 4 point on 21 October. 19 yards double lung with a slice of heart. Those zwickey deltas on cedar sure do the job. Sure feels good to get a payoff with your longbow.

When we were taking the picture, we didn't have enough lighting so it only came out to a small white spot in the middle of a black field. lol

Can't remember why or how Sp!ke did a good job. But, I guess when you're in league with Bowjunkie you have do something good just to counterbalance the scales.
