Default In search of more stories ad cover photos

This is a never ending search and I prefer to have a stock pile to go to instead of calling out for them on an emergency basis.

As always I can't make promises that your story or photo will ever make it to print, but I hope many are pleasantly surprised when it does.

So there has got to be some new material out there now that the '08 season is behind us.

Roger, why don't you give us a run down of what you want. How long should it be. what makes a good enough story that you can use? I sent in a story and never got word if a) you got it b) it was written in a way that would work for the magazine c) It was too long, too short or just not what you were looking for. That would be a great help to those that are wanting to share their story. I know my story was sent in a while back and some other stories have made it in the mag that happened after mine, but made it in before mine, so I have to wonder if I just did a bad job of writing it or if it was not written in a way that you could use it in the magazine.

But that isn't the real issue. Just give everyone a run down again of what you need. I've got an idea for a story and would like to try again, but some pointers might help.

Yes I received your story. Sorry I don't always get around to replying to all my email.

I receive many stories and everyone wants their's in the next issue. I can't and don't make promises that are impossible to keep. So I do the best I can and hopefully you will be happy to see one of your stories in print if and when the circumstances all fall together. The more you send the better the odds though.
  • Stories should be in WORD.
  • Length does not always matter, but 800 to 1600 words is a good target range. After that it is up to the story teller and if it goes 2500 words, it goes 2500 words. (longer stories stand less chance of making it though because space is limited and I try to only edit for spelling and grammar so as not to lose anything from the story)
  • Digital photos are preferred, but not all stories have photos and I can scan in printed photos.
  • emailed stories are best. I do not have re-type those into WORD.
