Not all of you may have been aware, but the Archery Stamp that is the backbone of our defense of the Archery season was saved by the diligent efforts of the LSBA. Mike Rust, President, and Kevin Hilbig Legislative Chairman, among others worked diligently with Representative Dan Ellis to change the wording of the bill and save the Archery Stamp. Lone Star Bowhunters Association was the ONLY organization in Austin representing the Bowhunters. All of us bowhunters owe a big thanks to the Mike, Kevin and the others that worked so hard to accomplish this. We also owe a big thanks to Representative Dan Ellis, for listening to us and working to reword the bill to save the Archery Stamp. Just another example of Your LSBA working for you!!
Yeah, one of the major things LSBA does is monitor legislation and actions by Parks and Wildlife and try to make sure that actions coming from both work in the best interests of Texas bowhunters. The hard work put in this year to retain the archery stamp and the work a couple of years ago to keep youth rifle hunts from being okayed for every weekend of October are two very good reasons why Texas bowhunters should join and support LSBA.
Big thanks to Mike and Kevin and the rest of the EC on this issue. I know they all worked hard on this and deserve a big thanks from all who enjoy and cherish the sport of bowhunting in Texas.
Please feel free to come on here more often and pat these guys and others on the back and share what's going on in the LSBA.
A lot of our members are out of the loop and don't frequent 3D events, or banquets. This type of information on a more frequent basis would be beneficial for our membership as well as any future members that this site has the potential of reaching.
Thanks Mike and Kevin and the EC for being in Austin and fighting for the bow season. Also a thanks needs to go to everyone that wrote, emailed or called their representives and the sponsers of the bills: Ellis and Staples. The only way to keep our bow season is for everyone to stick together and help fight against those trying to take it away all of the time, and have great people in Austin on the front line educating those that are not bowhunter.

Good work Mike, Kevin and others that took the ball and ran with it. Thanks for your efforts.
I think the membership can help by keeping our eyes and ears open and letting the EC know any time something comes up that doesn't feel or smell right, if you know what I mean. Stay plugged in and look out for news items that might affect bowhunting and pass this information along to the EC.

Many thanks to those who took action to help avoid the harmful action to bowhunting. It's nice to see that some people are able to take action in these cases when the rest of us can't or just plain don't.
Again, many thanks for helping to protect our sport and heriatge.
It's been a while since I posted here, but I just wanted to say thanks to all here who worked on the archery stamp issue. Great work - keep it up. I appreciate it . . .
