Default First Point youth hunt question...

I have a neighbor who's son shoots with me a lot and has gone bowhunting with me a few times. His dad hunts but does not bowhunt and is not an LSBA member. The requirements state that both the youth and "parent" must be LSBA members so here's my question...

If the youth is a member, can any adult member (me) serve as a guardian and fill the "parent" requirement and help him to qualify for this hunt? Or does it have to be the child's actual parent attending the hunt with them?

Since there is a shoot at the Irving Bowhunters Association this year, he hasn't had either hunter's ed or IBEP, and he can write an essay, I think that he could use this as an incentive to help keep him focussed on some positive things this year and maybe keep him out of trouble.
