Default National Forests & Grasslands in Texas~Changes Affecting Bowhunting/Hunting

There has been an Order of Forest Supervisor, Order Number 08-13-00-09-06, that expired on February 1, 2014. This order prohibited dispersed camping in all National Forests and Grasslands in Texas from September 15 through January 15 of each year (except Wise County). Camping was limited to designated camping areas only. There is talk of this order not being reinstated and disperse camping would be allowed in all areas of the forests and grassland, including the bowhunting and hunting areas. This is a huge safety issue! There are some hiking trails that already run through these units.

Here are a couple of threads that discuss these issues:

We will be having a teleconference meeting tonight at 9:00 p.m. Please PM me if you would like to join in on the teleconference. The LSBA will be writing a letter to the US Forest Service concerning this matter. I apologize for the late notice, but we must get in our information and comments as soon as possible.

I will be posting the information in a little while on who to contact concerning these issues.
