whats allowed
 
just got my bowfishing bow set up and did some practice down at the lake and figured out how to aim. now i need to know what is allowed to ake with a bowfishing rig. my buddy from MO. was also wondering . live central TX Lake Belton. Thanks

nockhead, the only fish that you will be allowed to shoot will be non game fish except until August 31, you can still shoot catfish, but after that, you will not be able to shoot them any longer. This would be some of the fish that you could shoot. Gar, carp, buffalo, grennial (sp), mullet, shad. It might be easier to mention the ones you cannot shoot such as Red fish, spotted trout, bass, shark, etc,. Look in the either on TPWD website or the outdoor annual and look for game fish, those are the ones you cannot shoot except for catfish. Then after August 31, you will not be able to shoot the catfish. Sorry that I did not list them, but will be easier for you just to look them up. Good Luck and have fun. Bob
