Junior Outdoor Journalist Adventure Story Writing Competition

The Texas Outdoor Writers Association and the Dallas Safari Club’s Ecological Foundation have joined together to sponsor the Junior Outdoor Journalist Adventure Story Writing Competition. The essay writing contest, which is open to all Texas middle school and high school students, is designed to help promote a life-long interest in the outdoors while encouraging students to learn about the exciting field of outdoor writing by competing with their peers throughout the state for prizes and recognition.

The theme for essays should be the writer’s outdoor experience (hunting, fishing, camping or other outdoor adventure) and why such adventures are important in your life. See rules & registration form for official rules.

First Place winners in each division will receive a new laptop or tablet computer.
Second place winners will receive $100.
Third place will receive $25.
Winners may also receive an invitation to the TOWA Annual Conference in Corpus Christi.
Deadline for entries is Saturday January 31, 2015
