GW clarification needed
Ok, I got this longhorn/ cowhorned 3 pt "spike" comin to my feeder. I say he's a spike cuz he is slick on one side and on the other has maybe a 1/2"-3/4" pt or bump on the end of his tine. Not really a defined point or split. But it is noticable. Is he a spike? I should have shot him the first time I saw him, but didnt want to waste a buck tag.
I know in AR counties, he would be legal, but in Kimble County would he be considered a spike? Is any buck with one unbranched antler considered a spike (regardless of the other side) or is a spike a 2 pointer? __________________ |
Skeeter, a legal point is a point that is one inches with the exception of what a buck is. So if you are sure that it is less than a inch, you can take him in the spike season. Bob

Cool, thats what I wanted to know. Thanks Bob!

I thought I read the rule to be a spike on one or both sides OR more than 13 inches inside spread. A spike being a slick, no points antler (points less than 1"). Is that right?

A point is defined as being at least 1" tall and taller than it is wider.....with that anything less than 1" is not a point....
