1st Hog Hunt in Years

I always seem to get leases that have no hogs! I know this can be a blessing or a curse but when you want to stick a hog -- well.
I helped another hunter get a lease north of Longview and well he's covered up in hogs and has invited me to set a stand next week. I can hardly wait!!!
Wish me luck and straight shooting!

Thanks guys. It's probably not very exciting for a lot of folks to shoot a old feral hog. But I haven't seen one in probably 10 years now - so I'm really looking forward to the opportunity. I will take the camera. I am even thinking of taking the video camera and tree mount to film it if possible.

I know a lot of people complain about pigs, but I am glad we have them on both leases I am on. I would rather shoot a pig than a doe!

I did not see any hogs but I did see a small buck, a doe, and a fawn. Also 6 very fat corn fed squirrels, blue jays, and a few mourning doves. I had a great time just setting in the tripod and letting the morning unfold. I then drove to my lease and checked the trail cam. I had up to 6 deer at a time on the feeder and one 12-13" 6 point and a long horned spike.

Well to bad that you were not able to bring home the pork. It goes that way a lot. One year, I could not go out without having a chance to kill some hogs, and last year, I could not get one to come in so that I could kill one. Better luck next time. Bob

be happy you are seeing deer cause before you know it you will be seeing nothing but hogs.they come in cycles just wait they'll be back let it fly when they do.
