Colorado LSBA Elk Hunt!!

Hey all,

Back in 2001 I had a couple of guys from Wisconsin, Gerry Richardson & Don Berry contact me about a Colorado archery elk hunt. They were very frustrated because they had both been trying to draw a limited entry Utah archery tag for years.

Well they contacted me because they werent ready to give up on Utah just yet but they just wanted to go elk hunting! So they booked a hunt with me for the fall of 2001. We had a great hunt together and Don and Gerry both took 5x5 bulls!

They told me at the end of the hunt that they had a great time and that they were going to hunt with me every year until they finally drew a premium tag in Utah! So they have been hunting with me for the past 6 years taking 3 more bulls & 5 real nice muley bucks!

They were booked with me again this year (2008) but I got a call over the weekend and they both finally drew LE bull tags in Utah after 14 years of applying!! This is a once in a lifetime tag to draw!! So they had to cancel their hunt with me to get ready for their upcoming Utah hunt! I will miss them this fall but they said that they would be back in 2009. I wish them the best of luck!!!

They were scheduled to hunt Sept. 24-28, 2008 the same time as all the guys from the LSBA are coming. So now I have two openings if anyone wants to come and hunt elk with all the LSBA members!

Hunt details:
2 Spots available
5-day fully guided archery elk hunt, hunt includes all meals, lodging & guide (2 on 1)
Dates: Sept. 24-28, 2008
Price: $3750.00 per hunter

50% deposit required to book hunt

LSBA members already booked:
  1. Buff
  2. Chunky
  3. Roger
  4. Buff jr.
  5. Bweger
This hunt is during the heat of the rut, and the bulls should be bugling like crazy!!

I muzzy hunt in mid December in SW Nebraska for whitetails & muleys just about every year! Where do you hunt in Nebraska rns??

Ronny 05-16-2008 05:59 PM

Just south of Nebraska city. This is my 4 year 5 day hunt with some huge whitetails

Tomme 05-16-2008 09:35 PM

Of course he has to bring me along to shoot those Nebraska bucks (and it's too late you already have my deposit).

Ronny you can work out a deal with your wife. Just leave her and Angie enough money to go to the casinos for the week you'll be in Colorado.

Wish I could make this hunt, but I'd already booked with Fred Eichler (who spoke at our banquet for two years and did a heck of a job). I know I'll have fun with Fred, but it would have been neat to go with you guys too.

I have been working on a couple of guys, but one of them is a "frugal" as Tomme. They are planning on going the same time frame, but DIY on public land.

Hey Buff,
I just talked to Kevin! I looked at my schedule and it is ugly. I have a conference call in the morning and should be able to talk to our Director following that or at least by lunch time. I will try to get creative if I can!
O.T.

LMAO.....but it is all in good natured fun!!!
Well I had a great visit with Kevin today as I dodged my way through Houston traffic. Regrettably, I am not going to be able to work those dates into the the old work schedule. I would loose 1.5 days of hunting if I did shake loose on Wednesday evening.
The folks in camp almost make the loss of days worthwhile but I have to err on the side of experience when it comes to those dang elk.....they "turn on and off" at the slightest change in environment. Thus, loosing that hunting time is too much of a gamble for me. All in all it was a good "shot in the dark", but this dang job thing is getting in the way! (-;

NDNRoger 08-26-2008 03:09 PM

I am sorry you can't go Oscar! It would have been a pleasure meeting you!
