Glad your ok but that suxs about the house and garage!!

No damage, other than a sore back from picking up limbs. Power was restored Monday night and I am back at work today. Volunteering to distribute supplies donated by Dow to the community. So relief for the sore back, but not all bad.

All is well on my end....

Got power back and I am back at work today.

If anyone in the NW side needs anything, let me know. I will do whatever I can.

I sure am sorry to see those pics of your house and garage.

I was the last one to get power after Rita, so I believe I am still a long way from power yet. Last night driving home from the airport, it was complete darkness north of Porter. It was creepy dark. It if were not for the sounds of generators and chainsaws, you could believe you were the last person on earth.

Someone asked me at work if my neighborhood had power....I told him no, but much of my neighborhood didn't have power before the storm! :)

Roger, if I make the trip...I will definitely use my airline ticket. It gives me more time to try and recover and get home, plus it is already paid for. Thanks so much for your kind offer of a ride, and washing, at your place. I still hope to hunt with you guys next week.

I hope you get to go Mark. I know you need some time with nature. Good luck

Chunky 09-17-2008 06:09 PM

Thanks guys, I don't feel that far from "nature" now, as I am peeing and washing in the front yard. :) but I know what you mean. It would be nice to be away for the week. I think I can work it out. I will make a decision by Sunday.

I hope you get to go! If you do, get me your flight info and I will be there Tuesday to pick you up!

I am glad everyone seems to be ok. I, too, still don't have power. Just sitting outside during the day and going to sleep at dark.

Wife said she got power back on this afternoon in Madisonville.

Thankful that everyone is OK. I am relieved! Came through that area 2 days after the storm hit. Was in the back hills of southwest TX and had no contact with the outside for over 8 days so did not even know the storm had hit yet until we got back in cell service. Praise God for answered prayers.
