Default Bob Lee Bows

I love my Bob Lee Classic Elite! I can't wait until they are up and running again so I can order heavier limbs!

Great article from the Tyler Paper! Congrats on the new facilities, Bob & Rob!!
Thanks for your continuous support of the LSBA!

Archery Store Moving To Expand

By KELLY GOOCH
Staff Writer

JACKSONVILLE -- Bob Lee Archery is relocating to a new Jacksonville facility -- a move that is expected to create about three or four jobs.

The traditional bow manufacturer, which offers recurves and longbows, will be housed in a 4,000-square-foot building at 1483 U.S. Highway 175 West. It has been located on Loop 456.

Co-owner Rob Lee said the business decided to relocate because it wanted more acreage and a newer, more energy-efficient building.

"The existing building had been added onto and just wasn't as conducive to our operation as this would be," he said.

Lee also cited an incentive package the business received to stay in Jacksonville.

Overall, he said, the relocation will be beneficial for the city.

"It'll be a tourist attraction because of the novelty of the business we have," he said.

Darrell Prcin, president of the Jacksonville Economic Development Corp., agreed.

"People come to test out bows (or) pick up bow weights, and they're going to have an archery range where they can test bows," he said. "It (also) gives them an opportunity to expand their business and website."

He added, "Every year, it gains popularity. They build really nice products."

Bob Lee Archery also plans to have shooting clinics for clients beginning in the spring.

Lee said he hopes to start moving the business to the new facility within the next three weeks.

Lee's father, Bob, started an archery business in 1951, and it has been in Jacksonville since 1965.

According to the business website, Bob was a founding member of the Archery Manufacturers and Dealers organization, which later became known as the Archery Manufacturers Organization. He also helped launch the Pope & Young Club and was inducted into the National Bowhunters Hall of Fame.

The fun now begins. I am still learning how to shoot mine, and having a lot of fun doing it. Bob

He has a fairly large inventory online of finished bows. I have been window shopping it for the last hour. Good looking bows.
