Smile A Record Year for LSBA Youth Hunts

2009 was LSBA's best year ever for youth hunts.

For the seventh year in a row kids were able to hunt free with their parents or sponsors on our big Spring Hunt, the Grunts and Gobbles at Brushy Hill. This one was kind of special for me as my Granddaughter Chelsea came on this as her first bowhunt.

In addition to the Grunts and Gobbles we had two Ed Foreman hunts at First Point and the Bar E respectively. A new youth hunt at Grover Abel's ranch near Carrizo Springs and we finished up with another new hunt at the Bugscuffle.

My thanks to Pete and Ava Denney of Brushy Hill, Mike and Nancy Palmer from First Point, Larry and Tina Zimmerman of the Bar E, Grover Abel for a hunt on his ranch, and Bryan and Debby Keeling along with the owners of the Bugscuffle who provided these hunts for the bowhunters of tomorrow. I also want to tip a hat, and thank, the members of the LSBA Hunt Committee who went on these hunts and did such a fine job running them.

Great year.

Way to go guys. A big thanks to the ranches that allowed the kids come and hunt their places, and to the volunteers that worked hard to make this all happen. Bob

Congratulations to all that volunteered to make this happen. The kids are our future and all to often LSBA has been accused of being anti-kid. No one does more for kids in bowhunting in Texas than we do. Thanks again.
