Bow only for me. Anyone can get 100 yards from a deer!

Well I've already made the switch, put up my Mathews block and tackle and now I'm dragging around me Sarrels longbow. But if I was going to use a lead pusher, then I'd get out my TC hawkins and burn a little charcoal.

I don't know when I put down my rifle and started hunting exclusively with a bow, but I think it was in the late 80's. But I have been known to use a shotgun for dove. My arrows don't do much more than scare them.

Bow only for about 10 years now.

If I'd had a lease when I broke my arm last year I mighta been tempted to knock the dust off my 30.06...but since I didn't have anything invested, I didn't hunt until I could pull a bow again.

Default 10 years

I haven't used my guns in 10 years...custum cut carbine model Rem 74 30-06 w/ 3X9, Original Ruger M77 270 w/ 4X12 and Rem 1100 with Hastings Scope slug barrel w/leopold 1-4X and German Mauser 7mm. My boy wants to use BOW only so they are sittin.

MAybe when I retire I'll go north into Canada and Alaska and use them again.

Don't think I'd use the Ammo I've had stored

I mostly hunt with my longbow. When I want to take one or all of my kids, I carry my rifle. I do enjoy the kick of a rifle against my shoulder from time to time. Just something about being able to get them long distance that's exciting to me. Then again, there's something about getting them up close and personal that's exciting to me too.

Either way, I just can't wait to get back into the woods, weapon in hand...
