Default Meet the neighbors....

This momma dove had to scramble to build a new nest out of the late-season snow, she found a ladder on my patio tucked under the over hang and let nature take it's course....

...today I got to watch the babies take their first flights from the ladder to the roof top a few feet away, then onto the swing set across the yard.

Nature ROCKS!

Bob, they went from egg to first-flight in just a couple of weeks.

Pretty amazing stuff!

yeah...that's sooo not happening. My wife is already mad because I haven't been letting anyone use the door (or the backyard either) until they've left the nest...which includes yard work, cleaning the patio, AND "PUTTING THAT DANG LADDER UP"!

One baby DOVE came back tonight and is sleeping in the nest, the others are prob'ly nearby but nowhere in sight.
