http://www.baker3ranch.com/

I talked to the lady that runs it yesterday and she talked like there are lots of axis on it. I have already pretty much made my mind up that I am going there, just wanted some input from others that may have been there.

Sean,

I have hunted there many times. They do have a good axis population and it seems it is growing every year. They are not so plentiful that you are going to see them every hunt. It is a very large ranch and it is low fenced so they are free ranging.

It will be a real hunt. This year on the fall hunt they killed one decent buck and a number of does. I saw, while riding around, 5 or 6 trophy bucks, but none close enough to shoot at.

Good luck, if you want give me a call when it gets close to time for your hunt.

Mark

Thanks Mark I will definatley give you a call before I go. It looks like me my brother and a friend and his daughter are going down this summer and have a good time. Hopefully I can connect with a decent buck since an Axis is one of top animals I want.

I went last June. Saw alot of axis. You might bring a treestand or tripod. Seems to me the deer were a little bit shy of the tent blinds. If you want an axis buck they have some really big ones.

Thanks for the info Ronald. I think I might just take a small tripod.
