Default Panhandle Pheasant Hunt

Well the year was brutal on the pheasant populations,with the drought taking it's toll on the chick crop this year,and with the added complications of little to no cover from minimal crops and CRP grasses,it was a VERY tough hunt.There were 22 of us in our group,and we only took 12 birds in 3 days of hunting,but the comaraderie,and new friendships made,it was all in all a very big success!
Here is a recap in pics-hope you enjoy!;

It was very cold each day with plenty of frost in the mornings;

View of one of the fields on the morning hunt;

Headin' out;

Working the fields with the dogs;

Cool pic of antique tractor and plow with tumbleweeds stuck in it;

Pardner ready and blocking;

View in action,working under the pivots;

My only rooster of the trip;

Wow, Those are some nice pics. Looks real cold even if there was no snow on the ground. It did not look like the birds had much to hide in for sure.

I hear rumor that the 2nd annual LSBA Pheasant Bowhunt will occur again after the first of the year. Keep checking back in for more details.
