Default Hog shoulder mount "criteria"

Stemmed from a post in the exotic sub forum-

What characteristics/criteria makes a hog shoulder mountable?

I've killed dozens with the rifle (but I do not shoulder mount anything killed with a rifle) and only a few with the bow.

I'd love to have a hog shoulder mounted, but for me he's got to hit a certain weight. I want a bow killed hog that's 200lbs field dressed or 250lbs on the hoof. I don't remember the dressing percentage of a hog off the top of my head, but field dressed weight isn't very flexible..I want that 200lb mark.

I have always wanted good tushes, and large body hog. Not always works out that way. I have killed some big hogs that did not have any teeth, and some small hogs that would support some large tushes. I have several hogs mounted with all original teeth. There are some that are different colors. They have been killed with rifle, handgun, and bow.

I finally got around to researching "tushes". I first saw that on the LSBA bow hunting/fishing records form for my hog that I killed last spring. I thought it was a typo that had not been corrrected. I had never heard of tush. Learn something new everyday.

Also, have you done a closed mouth shoulder mount? A taxi showed me some that he did and although the open mouth is classic, the closed mouth wild hog comes out actually very nice. I'd like to have several hog mounts at some point.

I know, Its strange for me to call them tushes instead of tusks, but I did not name them in the records book, so I will call them that also.

I don't have any closed mouth mounts, but I have seen them, and they do look good if you have some big cutters.

Btw- with your shoulder mounts do you use the real cutters or have the taxi put in fake ones?

I was told they can do it both ways.
