Quick Trip ends with Gator Gar
Had a little time to run down to the bayou and see what the fish have been doing. The water was low and the grass pretty much covered the top of the water. The mullet were very wild and not letting me get a shot. I was fixing to go back home, but decided to check out an area where a board overhangs the bayou. Not much going on there either but a small gar came by, and I thought I would at least shoot at something before I went home. The shot was a miss, but thought maybe it would stur up something. Right away another smaller gar came swimming by when I noticed a long dark shadow coming by under the water. I knew right away what that was and hit her right behind the gills. She went down and not much fight was in her. I pulled her to the edge of the bank, and then my arrow came out. Not knowing how much fight was left in her, I reached down and grabbed up into the gills and got a hold on her and pulled her out. Not the biggest gar, but a good representative. Bob
