Has anyone hunted this ranch near Gonzales and have some feedback about it?

Thanks for your time.

I hunted there last summer and had a blast. Curtis will try everything to get you on whatever game you are going after. I went looking for either an axis or blackbuck and ended up taking a quality blackbuck home with me. When I was there he had numerous blackbuck between 18 and 22+" with some real massive ones in the bunch. The axis were pretty elusive, but the ones I saw were nice and I remember Curtis sending me pics of a 34"+ axis that a guy took only a few days after my hunt. The ranch layout is nice with the front portion being wide open fields where the blackbuck and oryx like to hang out and the rear is all thick brush. After scouting for about a half day I realized that the best way to hunt is to find the animals travel routes from the open field to the brush and try to setup on them. He did have feeders and feed routes established, but last summer was so green they didn't care one bit for the corn. The blackbuck in the pic below is the one I took at Double Arrow. If you have any other questions feel free to ask me.

Red face

Thanks for the feedback folks. It's always appreciated.

Thanks for the offer Curtis. I'll try and make it out to see the ranch.....if I ever get past this wicked hurricane season. Life on the coast.....

My daughters and I hunted last weekend at Double Arrow (Dec. 08)

I have been to many of the exotic day hunting places and so I have some experience to judge by.

I have really enjoyed my two trips to this ranch. The accomdations are large and comfortable with all extras including satalite TV with HBO. It is basicly a house with a full kitchen.

Curtis has a good number of animals with some of trophy class. He knows his property and his animals very well. He is very honest in telling you what he has and what your chances are at seeing this animal. He knows their habits and can put you in a good place.

Curtis will work as hard as anyone I have ever hunted with to make sure you have a good time. If you are in the market for an exotic hunt with a good chance at a shot, give him a call....you will not be sorry.
