Default Region 75 CAMP NEOTRIBE

What is it?
Camp Neotribe is a Rabbit/Squirrel hunt designed to give (5) LSBA members a chance to get their little ones (5-11 year olds) into the field for some small game bowhunting, outdoor activities, and a little bowhunting/campfire/camping education. Just because they can't take IBEP yet and participate in some of the other youth hunts doesn't mean they aren't bowhunters too!

When is it?
10am Saturday, May 30 - Noon on Sunday, May 31.
(Date changed to avoid Memorial Day conflicts)

Where is it?
North-East Texas, 200 acres of private property in Camp County, TX.

What's the cost?
No charge for either parent or youth to hunt. Members must provide own food & drinks (except for the hotdogs & smores at dinner), camping gear, 1 bag of corn (which will be used at your stand location), and a pop-up blind for best results. Youths will need the $6 license from TPWD.

Itinerary of Activities:
10am - Parents & Campers arrive/meet & greet.
10:30am - Noon Pitch tents, gather firewood, draw stand locations and set-up groundblinds/stands.
Noon - 1pm - LUNCH TIME (PBJ, Hotdogs, Sandwiches)
1pm - 3pm - Archery Range
3pm - 4pm - Gettin' Ready for the stand.
4pm - near dark - Stalk hunting rabbits or stand hunting over feeders for squirrel & rabbits. High shot % on squirrels over corn on this place...a few bunnies.
DINNER TIME = Hotdog roasting, smores, & campfire stories!
Sunday Daylight - 10am - Back to the stands for squirrels or stalk hunt for rabbits.
10am - Clean-up, break camp, load up, and hit the road!

This hunt is being organized with the youths who are too young to participate in some of the other LSBA Youth opportunities in mind. Parents must be with your child at all times in the field. All of the stand locations are accessable by vehicle & short walk.

Parents are welcome to bring your bows too! You can also take small game and hogs while on the stand with your child if the opportunity presents itself. Any child camper that is shooting a heavy enough draw weight bow for hogs may also take one given the chance.

Since the is no fee, there is no deposit...first 5 members to post here on this thread are our campers.

Joey, that is a very nice offer for the kids. I hope that there are five that will take you up on it. Sounds like you have everything together. I am sure they will have a lot of fun. Bob

Brad, you're welcome to bring Tomme...but you have be with him at all times.

Thanks, Bob. I'm hoping this will find a few folks in need without leases to take their kids to.

Good deal, Ronny...may need to bring a few more set-ups (and a few more supervisors) but we gots some woods for ya anytime.

I would LOVE to do this with my son. Only problem is he doesnt have a "real" bow yet.
Yes thats my fault! I gotta get that boy a youth bow so he can put his toy bow down.

Great offer! Glad to see theres still good folks around.

Jadyn doesn't have a "real" bow either...but don't tell her that.

How old is your son?

Brad, you beat me to the punch on this today...Jadyn has had another "make-up" soccer game scheduled for the weekend of this hunt! The season was scheduled to end Saturday and we played one make-up game yesterday but they are skipping a week for the holiday and making us play one more game on the 23rd.

Other than the posts above, I've had no commitments but before I cancel/reschedule this deal I wanted to bump it up today and see if there's anyone wanting/planning to make this deal that had not contacted me or if the guys above have made plans to be there.

If anyone wants to bring a little one out to hunt, I'll take my nephew instead of Jadyn and her momma can take her to the soccer game and this hunt is on...but if no one wants to go, we'll play soccer and head out there after her game.
