Default Feedback on proposing changes to TPWD?

I've been thinking about this guy from FTW that hunts in Grayson County and his fixin' stuff that he sees as wrong...and I've decided that I have a better plan for the county that I hunt in and some of the surrounding counties too...much better than his plan, I think.

Proposed new season changes...

Last 10 Days of September (Youth Only Primitive Arms – Archery/Crossbow/Muzzleloader)
October 1 – Day before Thanksgiving (Archery Only)
Thanksgiving Day – 2nd Sunday after (11 Day - General Season)
Monday after GS – 1st Sunday in January (Primitive Arms – Archery/Crossbow/**Muzzleloader)
Monday after PA – end of January (Youth Only General season)

**Muzzleloaders to be excluded in the late-PA season of certain counties based on harvest requirements.

I'm acting on my own here and starting to put some stuff into writing to form a wildlife co-op to self-impose these seasons, writing an article for the local papers to introduce the plan to local landowners and if there's interest, I will start a website and online petition for sportsmen and landowners to see the plan and to express their voices on the matter. Maybe we can get this thing infront of TPWD for several counties for the '09 meetings on changes.

I think type of season/co-op could greatly improve the deer herd in my area, increase responsible hunter participation, decrease trespassing/poaching and eventually increase the value of leased hunting rights for the landowners in this part of the State.

My plan also expands the total hunter days for whitetail for everyone and has a couple of "special youth" seasons.

Unlike some people proposing changes to TPWD, I'm looking for feedback and/or support from a large group of Texas sportsmen on this first.

So, feedback...

Good luck getting the people around you to self impose a reduced gun season. I think you have a good plan, but it will be an uphill battle to get people to voluntarily lay down their guns.

I understand that Texas has one of the longest gun seasons in the country, but I dont see change coming easily.
