Well the bucks turned off by the time I got there, but were hitting the corn hard. I saw shooters every hunt. I was after a bigger 8 in the same pasture that I shot my other 8. I talked to Mike and he said that there were a couple of 10's there also, and i ended up see them too. One is a 140 and the other is a 150. I had one come in one morning at 10 yards and started to crunch some corn I had spread out. I turned my head very slowly and he bolted away. So much for that. I hunted very hard and moved stands almost daily. Finally on the last evening hunt I had the big 8 come in at 10 yards. Having talked to Mike and everyone else at the ranch they all had me convinced to aim low as the bucks were super spooky. Well I did, aimed for the brisket and that's where I hit him. I trailed him for 200 yards and the blood petered out. I'm sure he will make it, however he will probably never eat corn off the roads again and will become and absolute monster. Gotta shake this one off and get back out there.
