Spent the day Saturday at New Smyrna and really liked it. Just a mile or two south of New Smyrna starts the Canaveral State Seashore. VERY few people on the beach there. Even in the public/drive & park on the beach area of New Smyrna it was not terribly crowed. $5 gets you all day vehicle access. Beaches were clean. I'd go there again for sure.
