Default Cub / Mini Cub distances

On average, what distance are most people letting their kids shoot from?

The way the rules are written there is no wrong answer. I just wonder if I am doing my kids justice. I have both 5 and 6 year old shooters that I make shoot from about 10-12 yds (depending on size of the target) because at this distance they can hit foam regularly.

I feel that this is the best for their personal progress as archers but may be costing them prizes. Winning a prize now and then sure helps a kid this age stay excited about going to shoots so I am torn, do I move them up so they win or do I make them stay back and face a challenge?
