				 Camp Neotribe?

Due to the incredible experience of my nephew's at the Fudd Hunt and my daughter's disappointment at not being able to go, I am starting to plan another youth oriented "Wabbit Hunt" on public land for this Spring. With Jadyn(3) in tote, it will be much more stump(trash) shoot than rabbit hunt for me but I think it's time for her first camping trip and walk through the woods with her bow & Dad.

I'm thinking about a Saturday noon to Sunday noon camping trip this Spring with a balloon shoot, 3D targets, campfire, cook-out, tent camping, marsh mellow roasting, bow building, good time..maybe a couple of bowhunting stories thrown into the mix.

I can probably count on the nephew being there with her but thought I'd check and see if anyone else might want to go? We can build bows onsite for any kids (under 10) who don't already have one....and use the ones that I blow-up to start the campfire.

What do you guys think? I have a location in mind on some COE property in north Texas but will wait to see who's interested and look at other options...than aren't anywhere near San Angelo.

That sounds fun Joey. Hunter and I would try to attend depending upon when and where. |

I was thinking of going to the COE land and campsites around Lake Lavon because it's close to home and FREE!...but I'm open to suggestions from you guys.
March is a busy month, what do you think about early-mid April?

Also, Tomme has given me the OK to make this an "LSBA Youth Hunt". I like the idea of the organization promoting bowhunting/archery specifically to youth. Since this is on publicland, it will also be open to non-members.

Give me enough notice, Joey, and I'll try to bring Caity up there. March is out though. Too much going on.

I think this is the coolest idea I've heard in a long time. Or at least an idea that wasn't mine that's cool . Seriously, I can't think of anything going that would be more fun for kids and help bring them along into bowhunting.

I wish we could get a rabbit/small game shoot like this going in every region. |

Way cool idea, Joey! I know the Kana clan is interested in participating. Are BIG kids allowed to shoot rabbits too?

Tomme, I know of an annual rabbit, etc hunt held this year and last for the big "kids".
But, you're right, If there are places to set the kids on rabbits and other objects/small game (due to equipment restrictions), it'd help greatly our future, to put them at it.

Anyone interested?
