Beginning in January, 2008, LSBA will be offering Active Duty Military and Junior Memberships for $15.00.

If you are an active duty soldier, send in a copy of your Military ID card and your membership will be $15.00. Thank you for your service to our Country!

Our Junior Memberships will be available for kids 16 and younger. Just an incentive for kids that may not have parents that hunt or bowhunt.

I hope everyone is as excited about our new memberships as I am! Support bowhunting~join the LSBA!

That is an awesome idea. Our military is who allows us to be able to enjoy the outdoors like we do. I think it is great that the LSBA is going to offer this to our armed forces.

I also think the junior membership will bring more young kids into this outstanding organization. Great idea...

Dena, we should allow them to black out their SSN on the front of the card. Privacy ya know?

Good point, Tracy! That is fine, I just need something to show they are active duty.

That is a great idea. There could be some issues with sending copies of an ID card with or without the SSN blacked out since it's an 'Official' document. I know some things have changed since I retired, but making copies of ID cards and such was really frowned upon. You may want to simply have provide their organization address and duty phone, along with their home mailing information.

I'll be happy to post a bunch at Camp Bullis' Outdoor Rec Center if you can mail them to my home. If so, send a hundred or so. I'll hold on to 50 and include in our IBEP 'Grab Bags', and post the rest at Bullis.

I do agree with the copying of the ID cards. I have only been out of the military 7 years but I am sure it hasn't changed much. They did frown upon those types of situations. I think both addresses and duty phone would be sufficient.

I'm not military savvy, so I greatly appreciate the input!! Both addresses and duty phone will be sufficient. I will be working on the application in the next couple of months and would like to run it by y'all before it is made public. That way, I can make any changes that need to be made.

Rick, I will get the applications to you in the next couple of months. Newly graduated IBEP students receive a $5.00 discount if they sign up for LSBA right after the class. I'll send that information to you, as well.

I think if they just add their branch, rank, and organizational address it should be qualifiable. I can easily found out if its a valid addy.

Allow FPOs and APOs as well.
