Default He should have stayed by his self

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

After my Niece shot her Painted Desert Ram most of the dozen or so sheep followed him through the gap and into the pasture behind us. Life was good. We hooted and danced a jig on the tree stand. I told her we needed to wait 30 minutes to be sure he had time to bleed out. As luck would have it the one of the Big Red Sheep had chosen to run the other way when they scattered. Fifteen minutes later he changed his mind and started back towards his buddy's and our stand. He was nervous and would run 10 or 15 yards and then stop and stand for a minute before running again. I really believe if he had just strolled by or stand he would have been living today but that jerking run tripped my "HE IS GETTING AWAY SWITCH". As he got closer instinct took over and the whole world blurred. When he finished a dash that put him 25 yards from me, I was in full auto pilot as the 66# Blackwidow send the 680 grain arrow through his chest. So much for a quick cheap trip to get Whitney a Sheep. As my feeble mind slowly cleared I was left with the realization that I had just shoot the most expensive animal on the ranch. O well it is just money and it was one of those shots we live for where you pick up the arrow before it even starts to spin and watch it all the way to the spot you were concentrating on.

Congrats Buff and pass it on to your pretty niece as well. You are the MAN!

Nothing about this story suprises me

Didn't a great bowhunter once say you had the restraint of a puppy?

WOW! Nice Redsheep, Marty.

I knew you couldn't go there without giving Ricky a little cash...but man, you really exceeded expectations!

Congrats!
