Grunts and Gobbles, directions, what to bring.
OK, I'm putting this as a new thread so that you don't have to read through all the other comments. Feel free to post on the other as well and talk all the smack you wish.
First directions. Most of us will come from East of Sabinal. If so, go to San Antonio. (If you can't find San Antonio, you should not be in the woods in the first place.) Go west on HWY 90 to Sabinal. Turn left at the only traffic light in town and go approximately 4-5 miles. There will be a dip in the road and a named creek. About one hundred yards beyond the dip you should see the LSBA banner on your left. Come through the gate and we will either be set up at the barn or at the bunkhouse (about 300 yards from the gate). You can't miss it.
If you've never been on this hunt, you will need food, sleeping gear, corn and stands (tripods or pop ups, or you can spot and stalk). The bunkhouses, have showers and toilets, kitchens (stoves and refrigerators), and Bar-b-que pits.
Based on last years hunt you might also bring a pontoon boat*** (not me as I believe in travelling light)and keep the number of the Coast Guard handy. If you hunt on this side of the river, you're ok.
