Default Great opening weekend

It started Friday evening got to the ranch in George West and started feedin up and no sooner than i got in my truck a javelina walked out in front of the truck at 20 yrds and one shot and he went down. Saw a few bucks and way to many does. Opening mornin we jumped in the blind round 6:30 and already had deer on the roads. Bout 8 am a big mature 10 point came in round 50 yrds and movin our way. My friend that i was hunting with has never killed anything with a bow but when i go over ther he shoots my bow well so he wanted to give it a shot. The buck got to 20 yrds and he let the arrow fly. It hit his mark and he ran bout 60 yrds and ther he fell. He was 20 inches wide, chocolate horns and had 7 inch brows, weighed 210 and would probably go around 140 class. Not bad for the first thing ever shot at with a bow and first deer with a bow. Then the evening hunt started with a lone doe out and as soon as she came out she started the snortin. This went one for bout 10 min and thats all i could take. She was runnin around the roads just blowin away and stopped at 25 yrds and the arrow flew, hit her good, and she went a few yrds and fell. It was cool sat evening so decided to get my dogs ready and go get us a hog. Dropped off at a feeder and started walkin. Walked for a few minutes and the barkin started, ran a few hundred yrds and had a huge hog caught. Pulled the ole stickin knife out and put him down. Had 2 1/2 in cutters and weighed 225 lbs. Sunday mornin had tons of deer out but nothin to put on the wall and after sat night i'm suprised we even woke up to hunt the morning. Hopefully next time i'll get the big one. We let a lot of 150 - 160 class deer go last yr so hopefully these comin weekends it will cool down and they'll start movin again but its gonna be hard to beat the fun we had this weekend.
