Default Refugio 10 Point

I have had some very good luck over the years with my recurve. The one critter that has always seemed to elude me was a good white tail. A lot of it had to do with hunting where there just plain were not any big deer, a lot of it was my lack of restraint. 2008 has been very kind to me. The last week of bow season I was able to kill a 130" 11 point, my way best deer ever. This weekend I hunted my new South Texas lease for the first time. I was told by Chunky about a beast of a 10 point that had been seen several times by several folks. Friday morning about 8:30 I was just fix'n to get down and adjust my Tripod when the 10 point came rolling in out of the brush. While I was able to get the shot on film there is not a lot of footage. normally I film a deer for several minutes, risking spooking him, to get plenty of footage. I killed this deer the very first moment he looked away. He scored 149 1/2"

Chunky put me right on this deer
