There are lots of good bows out there. The important thing is that you choose one that is right for you. I would highly recommend that you go to a local pro shop and shoot several different brands prior to purchasing one. You will generally find one that fits you better than the others. If you are confident with your archery equipment, you will be confident when hunting. Here is a link to a website that is very informative on selecting a bow.

I also recommend that you take the International Bowhunter Education Program course.

I personally prefer Parker Bows. They offer some good bows that will not break your pocket book. They also come with a Lifetime Warranty and have great customer service!

I see you are in the 77 Region. There are several LSBA Dealer Members that offer discounts to LSBA members. They are Santa Fe Archery in Santa Fe, Bullseye Archery in Angleton/Danbury and Sure Shot Archery in Humble. Bass Pro Shop also has a wide selection of bows.
