At any given shoot there are people who are very competitive and trying to win and people who are just shooting for the fun of it.

You will have to pay the entry fee, which goes to help the club stay in business with expenses (like replacing the targets), but you do not have to turn in a score card or even keep score.

I normally know people at every shoot now, but it didn't use to be that way. I would go to the shoot and go down to the practice range. I would strike up a conversation with anyone who didn't like they were really concentrating on their shooting (I didn't want to be a distraction). most folks are nice and willing to talk. Then I would just say...you mind if I shoot in your group.

I can't remember anyone ever saying no. If it was my first time, I would tell them that, and tell them I was not turning in a score. Of course you could sign up in the novice division and see how you do. Just ask about the rules, they differ a little from shoot to shoot.

It can be addicting. good luck

Banana Bend shoots tomorrow, Montgomery County on the 23rd.
