Spring Hunt Questions?
 

What do we need to bring. Are feeders set up? Stands? I have never hunted hogs at night with a bow. WHere do you get the light kits?

Feeders and feed route are provided! You will need to bring stands, Tripods and Groundblinds work the best because not that many big trees! You can get lights for hog hunting from Cabela's for sure or look at www.hawglite.com. Ask any LSBA rep when you get there and they can give you all the advice you want and probably some you don't especially from one they call TOMME!

SNAKE BOOTS OR CHAPS

The snakes down there are big.

Ive seen the hawglites, but I shoot a recurve and don't have any place to mount one. I looked on Cabela's site but did not find the light's that you put on the feeders. Anybody know where to get those?

Tried to post this several days ago, but got bumped. Back on now.

Graybow, I've had some luck simply using a flourescent lantern wrapped with translucent red gift wrap. I think any type of camp lantern could work. I use one that runs on D cells and I use rechargeable batteries in mine.

One trick on this is don't position it where the light shines directly at you.

Thanks guys for all the help! Yet, another question! lol Whats the country look like down there. I just got back from a college field trip to Bandera, wich is just 50 miles north of Sabinal. Anything like Bandera? Man that was some pretty country. First time I had been there.

Different Terrain. Bandera is Edwards plateau hill country type terrain and I bet there was a lot of live oak and cedar. Brushy Hill is more of a S Texas mix. Lots of mesquite, some low brush and only large trees along the waterways.
