IMPRESSIVE and congrats to the hunters on all the fine animals and fish killed with a bow and arrow! GREAT to see the youth entries!!! Some real accomplished young hunters out there!
Also kudos and a tip of the camo hat to our Fearless Chairman, Ron Collier, for working so hard to put the TBBR back on the map. Check out the website http://www.texasbowhuntingrecords.com/ he built and don't forget that THIS is THE reason we have the banquet each year. |
Great going guys! Cep't maybe that MULLET thing
I was wonderin about that myself, biggen! lol And what the heck is a capybara??
Yeah, that IS a heavy hair do Brad, I thought the records were for bowhunting only and here Tomme is entering his hair.
Congrats to all of the successful hunters!!!
You Mullets had better watch out. You could be next!
By the way folks TBBR stands for Texas Bowhunting AND Bowfishing records, so any fish that is legal to take with a bow could win you an award. There was stiff competition for the Mullet prize (ask Elvis) bvut I prevailed. Point is that you don't have to shoot a Boone and Crocket buck to get in the record book. Exotics and fish can go in as well. The capybara is a large (like dog size) Mexican rat. They are considered a delicacy by some of the locals I hear. I've also heard that some were imported by some Yahoo that let them escape and now they may become the next hog problem. Just don't go to sleep in your tent with Cheetos on your breath. Congrats to all the winners and especially to my buddy Ron Collier who has done a truly wonderful job since taking over the records system |
Thanks Tomme! Thats a big rat! Haven't heard of any of them up here. Where are they at?
Graybow,
They are being spotted now from Victoria up to the Hill Country, though not frequently. Picture a Nutria on steroids. As like most exotics, and Tomme said, they escaped into the wild. The one Bryan arrowed was up in Vanderpool on the Bugscuffle if not mistaken? Tastes like chicken I hear 8) See link: http://www.capybara.com/capybaras/ |
I looked those thingd up last night on the net. I remember what they are now. Said that they get to 100 lbs. Ugly things too! Glad they're not here.....yet! lol
Congrats to all of the winners and the participants, without the participants, we would not have any winners
