Youth Archery - Outdoor Fools Day
 

The LSBA will have our youth archery range at Outdoor Fools Day at Texas Freshwater Fisheries Center in Athens again this year. Outdoor Fools Day is a TPWD event designed to introduce kids and their families to outdoor activities. The date is Saturday, April 9th from 9:00 to 4:00.

“Outdoor Fools Day is held each year on a Saturday in April. Representatives of various divisions of TPWD, conservation organizations and outdoor-related businesses present displays about outdoor recreation opportunities in East Texas and conduct hands-on activities that teach skills needed to enjoy them. Learn archery, outdoor cooking, private pond management, how to camp and much, much more. It's all included with your regular admission.”

Volunteers are needed to help kids safely fling a few arrows at 3D targets. I promise you won’t regret volunteering. Helping youth is very rewarding. Lunch is provided by TPWD. Email rww1626@aol.com if you would like to help.

Gertrude made the trip, but she wasn't a target. That Javi with the ballon is no kin of Gerty.

Gertrude is for looking at, not for shooting! She stayed over by the pop-up blind we set up for the kids to play in. She's been to every Outdoor Fools Day and wouldn't miss it!

That is good to hear. I thought that Gerty might have done something wrong and had been put out to the pasture now.

I didn't think the pretty pink bandana would last with all the kids so Gerty went au natural.
