Illuminated nocks... what are your thoughts?

A while back I did a product test/review using illuminated nocks...

One thing I really liked about them was during my practice shooting those lighted nocks really helped me "see" what the arrow was doing and I found in some cases where I needed to improve myself either in my stance or my release. But the key point is practice, practice, practice... if you get them and want to use them.

Here's a great YouTube video showing the Lumenoks in action:

If you've used something similar, what were the pro's and con's in your opinion?

I will be using lighted nocks once again this season!

Used every kind out there and most are like game cams. 1 out of 3 works consistently!!

I can't use them, I want to kill a P&Y deer and that will keep him out of the book.

I was interested in Lumenoks at one time but backed off when I heard bad reports on them. I just read all these reviews at Cabela's http://www.cabelas.com/product/Burt-...9&Ntt=lumanock and it was interesting, to say the least. Some said they were great, some said they are junk. At $10 a pop, I want to have a good feel for them BEFORE I buy them. I'd like to see more reviews on here.....will be watching.

I've tried several different brands and the best I have used are the tracers ( the ones that are activated withthe magnet). The worst I have tried are the lumenocks. I get about 1 out of 10 to work consistently.

Did anybody else notice how many bad shots were in that video?

There were some really nice deer that were missed and some really bad shots. Some good shots also though. Good point Ronny, any lighted knock on your arrow will keep you from entering P&Y, but for everyone that uses game cameras for scouting, that will also will keep you from being able to enter a P&Y Deer into P&Y. There are a few other things also, any person hoping for the P&Y deer to be entered really needs to look into the rules.

I saw quite a few gut shot animals in the video. Some pretty wild shots besides that. I had the thought they intentionally put bad shots in the ad to illustrate how you could see your shots.....good or bad. I had to look to make sure the shooter in some of those wasn't Ted Nugent. :)

The game camera rule has been revised I think.

That would be good then. I know I had just read in the last month or so in a article in one of my bowhunting magazines about the cameras. Bob

All great inputs fellas!! For me I only used them for target practice, never in an actual hunt. In that video there were a lot were the nock didn't light up and I'm hoping those wildly missed shots were intentional (hahaha)!!
