Feather Splicing

3 Attachment(s)
I got to fooling around with splicing two different color feathers together and it took a while and many wasted feathers before I got it were I liked. After it was all said and done I was only able to finish 9 arrows as I had ran out of red feathers. Here are some pictures of the arrows I did finish, what do you think.

When I get a little better I'll do a video on how to splice feathers........

Works of art! Where do you get your feather material?

I'm not set up yet to cut my own feathers. Soon I will be so currently I've been ordering 5 and 5.5 inch shield cut feathers. I shop around to see who has the best prices and the colors I need then place an order. I use to only use Trueflight feathers but I've found that AMG feathers are better in my opinion and cheaper so I've been getting them off Ebay believe it or not. I then trim the shield cut into the medieval styles for these arrows. Not a lot of work really. Now doing the splicing is a bit time comsuming to get them right and look like it is one feather. I am getting faster at splicing though. I'm going to be doing some splicing for the feathers I'll be putting on the set of carbons I'm building.
