Way to go youth hunters. Good luck the rest of the weekend.
|
That's great. Thank all of you guys that take those kids hunting. It is a great investment of time.
|
I think a couple hogs were killed this morning. Waiting on to nights update.
|
Ok, I'm back from the Grover Abel hunt. All four youth had shots at animals. As you read earlier Drake Rosser harvested a doe. Drake is 10 (?) and this is I believe his first deer with a bow.
Danny, Jordan and Payton all had shots at hogs. Two clean misses and one with a heck of a blood trail for several hundred yards, but no ham on any of these. All the kids had a great time and my thanks to Grover, Jessie and John for having the kids and serving as guides. I'll get pictures out later today and Joey Gates has a bunch also. |

Longtime LSBA Member and volunteer guide for the weekend, John Hall & his cool lease ride...alright, more of his cool ride than of John. :D Attachment 2137 It was a great time and we got to see a pair of VERY nice 10-point bucks (130ish & 155ish) at less that 10 yards...we had them both in bow range for over an hour last night, Danny really enjoyed that experience. Morning hunts were slow but as Tomme mentioned, every youngster got a shot and had a great time...until next time! Attachment 2138 |

Awesome Experience---THANKS
Payton and I had a great experience! He has enjoyed telling his friends and teachers about his weekend. (Ok, I have too.)
We had many 'Firsts' this weekend. For the first time we saw: *Elk (on neighbors property). Wow, 6 feet tall and 500-700 pounds; 50 yards away!!! *Green Jay(s)- a colorful tropical bird from Mexico *Mexican Eagle(s) aka Crested Caracara *Hawks actually swooping in to kill a dove(s) *Wild hogs(and piglets) at the blind (8 yards away). Payton shot at one, but missed. I have it on video....I'll try to post it. *200 class whitetail bucks( in the breeding pen) Payton also learned a lot about how the moon phases effect wild animal feeding patterns. I shot my frist 'RobinHood' (arrow inside another arrow) while practicing out back. I have pics, I'll try to post them too. **Oh, and it was our frist experience to hear Tomme sing songs. :michael: Noithing likle waking up at 6am to Tomme's theatrical voice!!!! What a guy; you gotta love him. My hat is off to Mr. Grover Able. Thank you sir. My hat is tipped to Mr. Tomme. Your efforts are appreciated, sir. Thanks. Last but not least, 'Thank You' LSBA staff. |
Sorry you had to hear Tomme! :blahblah::)
|
Speak the Language, good to see you posting here. Glad Payton and you had a good time. Sorry to hear that you had to listen to Tomme sing. Some things the LSBA cannot prevent. Congrats on your first Robinhood, I am still waiting on mine. Good luck to Payton and yourself on the rest of the hunting season. Bob
